SEO – Should You Quit SEO Business After Panda Update in March 2012

This article is written for those SEO companies that have become doubtful about the whole SEO venture.  SEO is a tricky business, if you rely on organic search engine optimization; you are putting all your eggs in one basket.

After Google’s Latest Update many business owners became hesitant about certain online marketing.   Those who rely on organic search engine optimization either called it quits or are scratching their heads to figure out how to rank on Google.

Those who started SEO business lately may wonder how to continue in this business.

Here are my advices:

-          Don’t quit on anything. Be Strong and patient (patience is a virtue, my friend).  Continue with what you are doing and try to improve your strategies. Every business has its ups and downs by calling it quits; you would never be able to do any business.  It’s not just SEO. Any business has its ups and downs.

-          Experiment on your own. This is the best way that you can find the answer.  Of course there are a lot of forums where you can read discussions, but most of them are rehashed answers and they really don’t’ tell you the reality. Because deep down they don’t’ know either.

-          Don’t panic if you see your keywords are outranked by your competitors. It’s temporary. They outsource their SEO when their workers get paid, they lose those ranking again. So you must find your own strategy.

-          Find advertising channels where you can promote a part of your service. You do not need to say you are the best, but you can say that you are able to get the job done efficiently.

When you offer a part of service and do the quality work,  I promise you get your permanent clients. This is how you can stay in the business. Do not exaggerate on anything. Be truthful and honest in what you are selling.  Business owners are not bunch of kids. They know what they are buying. If you exaggerate on some of your services, they may suspect that there are hidden flaws and faults.

Customers are fussier these days. They make sure that they get their dollar’s, Euros or Kroner worth for whatever product or service they buy.  When you do the business add some humor to your sales pitch.

Remember that your business image is priceless so you have to maintain and preserve it at all times. And keep in mind that the success of your business will most likely depend on how you project your image to your prospects. So be very careful in what you write in your advertisements. Write and edit them with utmost regard for honesty, bluntness and common sense.
