Running your online business effectively means maximizing your reach to all potential customers. The more people you have buying from you, the more money that you will make. However, to make money online in this fashion, you will need to do more than just reach out as you will have to pull in all types of customers as well.

Effective marketing is not just the art of finding people, you have to sell to them and that means using subtle differences in your sales pitch and approach to pull them in. From using SEO marketing to PPC marketing and more, in order to grab the most difficult type of clients, you will have to mix in some subtle techniques as well.

The Deal Wheel

The “deal wheel” is an old sales phrase that means when a customer will not buy for one reason, give them another and keep the process going until they buy. While you are not on the phone with them or doing face-to-face selling, the deal wheel can still be used even if it’s just your landing page.

The art of pulling in new clients or customers, especially those who may be difficult to convince to buy the first time is having slightly different messages once they reach your sales page or website. Remember that most people do not make a purchase as soon as they see what you offer. In fact, many people do not buy when they first visit your landing page.

Understanding this concept helps when formulating just how to create the perfect landing or sales page or home page to pitch your products. SEO marketing means that customers will find your website by using different types of keywords or key phrases, so craft your landing page to include different reasons why customers should make the purchase.

Reaching Out with PPC Marketing

PPC allows you the ability to reach out to difficult clients or customers with different sales pitches so that you can generate the most sales.

Test, Re-Test & Change: You’ll want to start with your initial pitch to promote your product using the appropriate keywords and judge the results. Be sure to test and track the results and then try another set to see how it goes as well.

Remember the 80/20 Rule: Essentially, this old sale’s rule states that 80% of your business comes from 20% of your customers. However, you can certainly expand your odds by reaching out to your most difficult customer or client base. Plus, you can work your “single-time” customers more with different products or services that may appeal to them in buying from you again.

Persistence: Whether it’s face-to-face, on the phone, PPC or SEO marketing, you must be persistent in your efforts at getting results. On average, a customer will say “no” five times before they say “yes”, so keep up your efforts. Effective marketing means doing something each day to make money online and in the end your success will be based on not giving up, but trying new ideas, keywords and other marketing techniques until you succeed.

There are many different tactics that an online business owner will use when trying to attract sales. One of the most interesting is called “negative SEO” and it has been in use for quite some time.

What is Negative SEO?

Basically, instead of trying to build up your own business recognition through standard SEO or search engine optimization tactics you instead focus your efforts on bringing down your competition by using keywords or key phrases and applying a link attack against that business.

Does Negative SEO Really Work?

The answer is a definite “yes”. Essentially, the tactics used by business owners to ruin their competition does still work in today’s era of website protection companies that try to blunt such tactics. However, there are some proven techniques that do blunt the efforts of negative SEO from working against your website. You will have to be vigilant and check your rankings regularly to spot what the competition is doing so you can catch them before Google catches you.

- Apply Rewrite Rules in Your .htaccess file

- Monitor the Traffic via Cpanle stats

- Block those IP addresses in your .htaccess file

- Use the Google “Disavow link tool ” and upload all irrelevant links to it. Be careful if they are Spammy links or black hat seo tactics

By continually using these tactics, you can head off a great deal of the effects of negative SEO before they can seriously harm your online business. If you make it a habit to monitor such attacks at regular times during the day, you can prevent them and your website will be safe from harm. The last thing you want is to wake up and see your website banned because of negative SEO.

There will be times when your competition might be angry at you, perhaps they are having a bad hair day or are just simply a moron and they attack you on Google Plus or other social media sites for no good reason. This type of defamation can be difficult at first to deal with effectively if you are not sure what to do.

Unfortunately if a competitor decides on hurting your brand reputation on social media, authorities will not do anything about it nor do search engines such as Google. They will not remove those type of content from their search results. Ironically Google does not act upon their own TOS policy. So you are on your own to act upon the malicious defamation on social media such as Google plus, Twitter, Facebook. As you see this is where evil wins over good..

One thing you should not do is respond directly to the attack since it will only make the problem worse. Taking it to the “authorities” will not do you any good as well. Instead, you will need to employ efforts that run the balance between addressing the charges your competition has made with promoting your own business so that potential customers who see both will wind up choosing you. After all, many singular negative attacks, especially from only one source can be dealt with, but a concerted attack from multiple sources may be impossible to overcome.

If anything, the key lies in not relying on an online search engine to promote your reputation as well as your ranking. Once you focus your sales efforts away from that, then you can become immune to such defamation attacks on your business.

Despite the seemingly infinite number of specialty niches on English-language websites, there always seems to be a lot of competition. However, you can expand into new markets by building multilingual sites. This means that you are appealing to a new set of customers where the competition may be far less crowded.

However, multilingual sites do present a new set of challenges to be met and overcome. This means understanding all the benefits and potential pitfalls of having a multilingual site work for you. What follows are the basics in running a successful multilingual site that will generate consistent profits for your business.

Ranking a Multilingual Website

Unless you are very fluent in the foreign language that you wish to establish your online business, you will need a translator for your marketing and guest blogs. In this manner, you can set out to build your web ranking and respond to customer posts in their language.

Another basic tactic is to register your domain in the country that it will do business, such as if you are going after the Brazilian market, then registering your domain on the Google version for that country will help your rankings. You will also want to check out local directories for article distribution to help bolster your rankings as well.

Important Factors of Ranking a Website for 2013

There are several factors for improving your multilingual website ranking. Perhaps the most important is establishing good backlinks from the country of origin. Remember that people are most comfortable in purchasing from websites that they can closely identify. Furthermore, backlinks to highly popular content within the country or language of origin helps to bolster the local SEO rankings for your website.

Geolocation is another factor in improving rankings on local search engine sites. The process identifies the user’s location based on their IP address, which means you can effectively channel the visitors you want to your website.

Generating Sales fro Multilingual Websites

There are a number of advantages for marketers who can effectively infiltrate into the online market of another country. For example, for every niche market in the US there are probably a dozen or so competitors at least. But in other countries such as Brazil or India, there may be no competition at all. This means with effective SEO marketing your business can become quite dominant. However, keep in mind that your niche needs to be popular enough to generate real profits.
Problems with Google Ranking for a Multilingual Website

There are a number of problems for multilingual websites that are simply optimized for Google, but the most apparent one is that many people in foreign-language countries simply do not use Google. Instead, many people use local search engines to find what they want. Alternative search engines are not only highly popular in foreign-language countries, they are often overlooked by many English-speaking marketers who simply assume Google, Yahoo or Bing are the only search engines used.

These are just a few SEO tips for your multilingual site. Always be sure to research the market you wish to enter thoroughly before marketing your online business.

For multilingual internet businesses, an effective marketing program will need to incorporate the power of popular search engines such as Google in order to be the most effective. However, to get a high ranking on Google in 2013 means altering the traditional marketing tactics of the past and incorporating the new priorities that the Google ranking system will require for the foreseeable future.

For all online business who rely on effective multilingual SEO techniques, multilingual PPC marketing and other means of advertising that is linked to getting the best ranking on Google possible, the number of changes that Google is making means staying on top and adapting your tactics to reach the best results possible.

What is a Search Engine?

Basically, a search engine is a website that helps people find information, products, services, images, videos and a wealth of other items online. A person types in a query about what they are interested in and the search engine responds by providing results in a specific order or ranking.

A search engine ranking is dictated by a number of factors that are incorporated into an algorithm. Search engine optimization is a tool used by many online businesses to take advantage of that algorithm and have their websites ranked as highly as possible on the results pages.
For small online businesses that might be just getting started, the Google search engine is the most popular in the world. Plus, more than any other single factor, most people who find the products or services they are interested in do so by using search engines.

How the Google Search Engine worked in the Past

In the old days, many businesses would simply use or purchase specific keywords or key phrases, place them liberally in their content and watch their weblink appear near the top of the results pages. Today, Google is focused on emphasizing content and quality and rid their results pages of spammy websites and “thin” affiliates.

How to Get Higher Ranking on Google Today

Basically, you have to start with providing high quality content, utilize effective linkbuilding to other high quality sites and effectively use social media to get the best results in addition to using a select amount of keywords.
Google is much more personalized today in how they rank websites. This means that boosting your ranking requires using certain tactics such as:

– Tweaking the Template

- Avoid Using Flash and iFrame

– Organize the Files in their Folders

Even when you try to do thing correctly, such as using the right off page link building method, you still don’t get the ranking you deserve. If that is the case, then it could be the programming that you are using or perhaps an on page issue that is preventing your improvements from going through.
Bulk submissions, a common tactic that worked in the past no longer is effective today. Those who continue to use or promote outdated tactics will be left far behind in today’s Google world.

For 2013, the key to more effective linkbuilding is incorporating more high quality directories such as Yahoo! Also, social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter and the many other popular sites and using text links to help bolster the SEO will work very well in creating higher rankings.

Correctly utilizing the Yahoo Search Marketing (YSM) platform that is the foundation of pay per click (PPC) advertising in 2013 will follow the same basic paths as the past previous years with only a few variations.
Similar to the Google AdWords efforts, the position of each PPC ad you employ will be dependent on the type of bid and your overall quality score. The quality score will be based on the click-through rate your ad generates as well as how relevant the keyword and landing page will be to the user who clicks on the ad itself.

The goal of getting a high YSM quality score remains founded on a number of proven principles that will still be in full force in 2013. With the overall economic situation in the North America, Europe and many other countries still uncertain, the best advice here is to follow the tried and true tactics that have worked in the past few years.

Think Small

It is better to compress your ad into a small, focused group to ensure that it is relevant to the keywords, landing page and the ad itself. In this manner, you can make more focused changes in order to get even better results. Plus, you are spending less per ad as opposed to broadening your approach.

Avoid Bidding Wars

Why waste money for large, expensive ads that have a broad and less focused approach when you can save money on tighter, smaller ads. In this manner, you can focus your keyword search even more and find good deals that will help your efforts in a tighter manner. Given today’s uncertainty, it is better to stay smaller and more focused so it conserves your funds.

Use Dedicated Landing Pages

In order to increase your efficiency in getting the most out of your ad, create a dedicated landing page instead of just using your home page. A good landing or squeeze page can be focused specifically on the PPC content in order to maximize its effects.
By creating dedicated landing pages, you may have increased your workload somewhat, but you will also reap the rewards as they are far more tuned toward getting the most from your PPC ads. The watchword for 2013 is “uncertainty” which translates to staying focused on getting the most from you targeted PPC efforts.

Think “Standard Match” over “Advanced Match”

Basically, if you bid on exactly matching the keyword, it is very likely that your PPC ad will appear above a broad match advert even if that advertiser had a higher bid. This little trick can actually save you some money and get higher rankings for your advert.

Think Local

If you are running a brick and mortar store, you can take advantage of the Yahoo Local Match option and target your advertising towards your own physical address. This means you can generate more local or walk-in business for your company.
While no one can predict all the trends for 2013, it is certain that staying lean and mean with your approach to purchasing focused keywords can help control your bottom line and create substantial profits.

Recently, Google launched the Disavow Link Tool which was designed to help online businesses that were being subjected to negative SEO attacks. Usually, the form of these attacks was to attach spammy links to your highly rated content. In this manner, your website would be penalized and lose its ranking and visibility.

Furthermore, if your website suffered too many of these attacks it would be unfairly penalized. For many, the only option seemed to be ending the website, buying a new domain and starting all over again. However, the introduction of the Disavow Link Tool by Google promised to be a valid method of regaining your status by attacking the very links that were dragging your website down.
Unfortunately, there is a serious follow up issue with this particular tool that has made it far less effective than promised. In fact, many people have become dismayed that the negative SEO tactics which they thought were a thing of the past instead are not being dealt with in as nearly an efficient manner as they were originally led to believe.

The Time Factor

The core problem with the Disavow Link Tool is that your request to remove the link does not produce an immediate result. In fact, it can take weeks or even months in some cases for the negative link to be removed from consideration for your content. This means that if you rely on the Disavow tool alone, your website could very well be off the website ranking and invisible to the public before you can have any of negative links resolved.

Negative SEO in 2013

Because the Disavow Link Tool has shown to be not nearly as effective as first thought, there will not doubt be a more aggressive use of negative SEO in 2013. The core strategy of negative SEO is finding highly popular content of the competition that has generating a high ranking and bringing it down by linking it with poor or spammy links.
The Google algorithms are tuned to seek out spam, having your content associated with spammy links will assuredly bring your website ranking down. In fact, the new Disavow Link Tool may be nothing more than a somewhat updated version of the old “The Spam Report” which also was criticized for not having enough power to effectively deal with spammy links.

What Can You Do?

There are a number of ways you can help overcome this inherent problem with the Disavow Link Tool. You are probably much better off making multiple link removal requests on your own to handing the problem, especially if it is widespread. By pounding it with personal requests for link removal, you stand a much better chance of solving the issue sooner.
Once you have reduced the number of negative links to just a few, then the Disavow Link Tool can be more effective in getting rid of what is left. If you are facing a minor spammy link or two here and there, then the Disavow Link Tool is generally at its best. Otherwise, you are much better off making the link removal requests yourself. However it also takes several months to be considered.

As we head into a new year, Google is once again changing their algorithms and updating their procedures in order to better combat spam. For those who use SEO as one of their primary means of promoting their online business, these changes will present some new challenges for the future.
Here are some of the changes that you can expect in 2013 from Google, this may not represent the complete list of what they are planning, but it is enough to help you better prepare so you can plan accordingly.

Social Media: Google is placing an even greater emphasis on social media signals, so linking to these sources may provide higher ranking possibilities. Google has gone a long way towards increasing the effect of social media sites on their rankings, 2013 will see another increase in these efforts.
This means that social media as well as ad network will now have more power in getting ranked on Google. For the savvy online business, taking full advantage of social media becomes paramount when trying to improve their search rankings. Look for more social media centered businesses to rise up and challenge for top rankings on search results pages.
New Websites: Now, new websites will be ranked on the first search results page while old websites will be buried on other pages. If your website has been around a while, you may be in for a very big surprise indeed.

This will most likely mean a shift for online businesses that use pay per click (PPC) and SEO to instead optimize for Bing and Yahoo since ranking on the first Google pages will now be more difficult, especially for the older websites.
Demise of the Black Hat: Black hat or unscrupulous SEO tactics will take a significant hit as this is the focus of Google’s latest efforts. Google has made the determination to rid as many websites that use black hat tactics as possible, this represents their latest efforts.
Rise of Local TLDs: You will see more businesses that use multilingual SEO to shift over to private networks because many of the local web 2.0 sites and directories will lose their rankings and thus, stop their services. You will see a rise in the use of local TLD or top level domains in order to increase their Google ranking in places like Europe.
The Google Plus reaction: Because of these changes, Google Plus will more than likely be abused by their competitors. This is not all that surprising a move as it has been building for some time.
Using Disavow links tools now will not help penalize websites, so now the burden shifts over to finding new ways to get ranked by other means.
The changes set for 2013 that Google is employing will certainly continue to shake up the online business world as they fight to adapt and make the most of what they can. The best advice is to keep on top of the new changes when they occur so that they can make the best, most informed decisions possible.

If you run an online business, you know that effective use of social media is very important to generating new sales, keeping in touch with customers and responding to their feedback. You have probably read many guidelines about the importance of social media and interacting with your customers. But what happens when you get negative feedback?

It happens to practically every online business that uses social media. There are going to be people that simply will not like the information you provide. While there is a place for genuine disagreement and even debate over certain issues, you will probably run into the person who makes irrelevant comments just to get under your skin. When faced with such a person, the first statement that comes to mind is “Welcome to the world of social media.”

So, how do you work within the social media to promote your online business and handle the naysayers? The answers are not nearly as complicated as you might think, although you would be surprised at how many online business owners can be perplexed by this issue. What follows are a few pieces of solid advice in how to effectively deal with negative comments to the products and service that you provide.
You will always get some negative comments.
No matter how great the product, no matter how thoughtful and correct the information you provide on social networks is, you will always have a few naysayers. Since you know it is going to happen, it helps you mentally better prepare for that day. Most of the time, the negative posts made by those who are not impressed are actually constructive in nature. Be sure to fully read all the negative comments before preparing a response. You may actually find some good, constructive information that you can use to help boost your sales.
You can divide up negative comments into two categories;
- Constructive
– Destructive
Constructed negative comments can be quite useful in some ways, although most of the time you will find their comments to either not apply or not be worth the effort to correct. If that is the case, then tell them you appreciate what they had to say. If the comments are destructive in that they are personal attacks for example, then remember that what they say reflects more on them than you. In most cases, you shouldn’t acknowledge them at all, but if you must respond, be as polite as possible. Remember that potential customers will read your comments as well.
Don’t get dragged down into an argument.
There’s an old saying, “He couldn’t see the forest because of the trees.” It rings very true when engaging in an argument with a person on social media. Quite often you’ll find yourself posting statements that you will regret. Even if you feel the person deserves a good tongue-lashing, getting yourself into an argument means you are losing perspective on how to best promote your own business.
Handing negative comments on social media mean putting your business in the best position to promote your products and services in the most effective manner.

There is little question that the holidays represent the busiest shopping season of the year. From Halloween to Christmas, the final three months of the year is when people spend the most of their disposable income on purchasing gifts for others. Taking advantage of this time of year is vital if you are selling products online.

One important aspect of your overall marketing is SEO or search engine optimization. Creating content that is holiday related, even if your products cannot help pull in extra sales during this time of year. Online businesses that show the holiday spirit create a greater connection with their customers. Even if your sales do not greatly increase, you will have built up a stronger bond that will pay off in the long run.

If you have a website that offers multilingual SEO to countries in Europe and Scandinavia, then you can tailor your holiday promotional efforts to tie into their celebrations. Remember to SEO in Norwegian and SEO in Swedish for your Scandinavian efforts as the language is the same. For other European countries, providing SEO in Danish, SEO in French and SEO in German languages can bolster your sales to the continental part of Europe just be sure to tie in your efforts to the celebrations observed in their respective countries.

Halloween

This spooky holiday usually starts the purchasing season as families buy candy, costumes and decorations to help celebrate this time-honored event. Providing a Halloween SEO discount on some of your products, even if they are not related can at least help boost your profile. A Halloween SEO offer on some of your products can be creative. For example, you can offer a discount by typing in a Halloween related word such as “Ghost”, “Witch” or “Treat” as a special code.

To help add to your efforts, put a few Halloween oriented graphics on your website. It doesn’t have to be much and often a single ghost or witch graphic can help get people in the mood for this holiday. Plus, you can write special content and frame it with Jack O’ Lanterns and other Halloween symbols. You don’t want to overdo it, just a few symbols can let people know that you enjoy this holiday and show a lighter side to your online business that is attractive and appropriate.

Christmas

You should get your SEO Christmas efforts to start towards the middle of November as Christmas shopping for many begins around this time. Almost any type of consumer products can be packaged for the Christmas season, so you should offer a small, but noticeable discount to help promote your items during this time of year.

Your Christmas marketing efforts should be fairly direct, such as a discount when a certain number items are purchased, such as “Buy 2 and get 1 Free”. You want to keep things simple in with your promotional effort at first and then offer a greater additional discount around the early part of December and ride that through to the holiday itself. Remember that you are competing for your customers’ money with plenty of other interests, so keep things simple but be persistent.

Buy quality link wheel in one of the following languages
Norwegian, Danish, Swedish, Finnish, German, French or English.

Effective SEO for eCommerce is certainly the standard by which most business hope to fully achieve to make the most profit.

When expanding your SEO keywords to cover multilingual websites, it’s important to remember that direct translations can often lead to more problems rather than gathering a wider customer base for the products and services that you’re promoting. Multilingual search engine optimization means taking into account several factors in order to avoid issues that may undercut your marketing strategy. Here are a few tips to help guide your efforts and create the best usage of SEO for multilingual sites.
Effective Translation of Keywords: Quite often you’ll find in other languages that direct translations miss the intended target. Even in English, we often use more than one word to describe the same thing, depending on tone or phrasing. For example, “vehicle” is a general term for both cars and trucks, but we don’t say “vehicle insurance” nearly as often as “auto insurance” even though most people do not associate “auto” with “truck”. The same is true in other languages as well, so you have to be careful about using direct translations without knowing the language.
Use Native Sources: The person who is handling the translations for your website should preferably be a native speaker, someone who grew up in the language. While there are exceptions, in most cases you should use the multilingual SEO expert whose native language is the one you are making the translation in order to get it right.
Watch out for Duplication: Languages are spoken and shared in different countries. Australian, England and the US speak English, though there are small differences. You want to insure that the SEO you create will not be duplicated on a site in another country that speaks the same language and uses roughly the same terms. Otherwise, people will be directed to a site other than yours when people search for your services.
Use Local Domains: While you may feel comfortable with the “dot.com”, you should really post your new site on the local, prevalent network of the country that you are targeting. Just as you are comfortable with “dot.com”, so are the locals comfortable with their own network. So keep within their comfort zone and use what they do.
Nothing takes the place of Research: The more research you do or hire a multilingual SEO expert or international agency to do, the better off your multilingual site will be. Usually the biggest problem found in multilingual SEO is that not enough research was done to catch potential problems before you went online.
These are just a few tips to remember when expanding your SEO to multilingual sites, hiring a multilingual expert or agency can help you overcome potential problems early and make your efforts more successful.

The English language may be the official language of most countries throughout the world, but you should never overlook the power of creating online content in additional languages. Expanding your online efforts to include multilingual content and multilingual SEO techniques will not only increase your reach around the web, it will offer you the opportunity to connect with your potential customers on a new, more familiar, level. Speaking to your customers in a way they will understand and reaching your customers in the places on the web that they hang out will show that your business, and the way you do business, is interesting. Additionally, it will show that you are also interested in what your customers feel is important. In short, multilingual SEO will take your SEO campaign to the next level. But let’s take a minute to be sure you understand what multilingual SEO really is and how it can play an important role in online marketing for your website.

Search Engine Optimization is the process of employing techniques and performing different tasks online that will ensure that your website is crawled by search engines and seen as authoritative and relevant to your niche. When a website is returned near the top of the list of websites in search engine results pages, it is seen by more internet users and therefore receives more website visitors overall. This can only translate into good things for your website. Multilingual SEO experts are well versed in performing SEO tasks in several languages, thereby expanding your online campaign so that your website is returned high in the list of results in more search engines. Remember, there are many ways that people search the internet. If you only focus on Google, you are missing out on additional website traffic. By catering to other search engines and providing content in other languages, your SEO campaign becomes well rounded and your online business will grow.
To execute a strategic multilingual SEO campaign, you must employ multilingual SEO experts. Expanding into Scandinavia by posting content written in Norwegian will help you capture the eyes of roughly 4.7 million internet users who speak this language. Creating your website and content in Danish will also help in expanding into Scandinavia. This way you can capture the eyes of another 5.5 million people and do so in the right way – in their native language. Try expanding into Scandinavia with Swedish and Finnish content as well. Translating your website and providing well-written, authoritative content in these additional languages will give your SEO campaign the boost it needs to grow your business. A multilingual SEO expert is your greatest tool when it comes to an aggressive SEO campaign. Having an expert work your campaign will ensure that your SEO campaign includes the most strategic techniques based on your website’s needs and your niche.
But don’t stop your multilingual SEO campaign short by only expanding into Scandinavia and providing a website and content in Norwegian, Danish, Finnish and Swedish. Go even further by expanding into Europe and translating your website into French as well as offering fresh, unique content in French. Our multilingual SEO experts are well versed in SEO and the currently accepted online practices as well as a multitude of languages. Without a doubt, expanding into Europe should be the next step of your SEO campaign. If you (or your current multilingual SEO expert) are not presently working an online strategy by expanding into Europe, then your campaign is missing a very important market. In fact, the European market saw an excess of £150 billion dollars spent online in 2011. This means that if your website is not currently seeing sales from internet users in Europe, your business is missing a very valuable market. Let a multilingual SEO expert from our team evaluate your current SEO campaign and provide you with the insight you need to ensure the money you spend on multilingual SEO is working as hard as possible for you.
Working an SEO campaign in one single language compartmentalizes your efforts and leaves a lot of potential sales on the table. Instead of wearing blinders, open your marketing campaign to include multilingual SEO at its best from multilingual SEO experts who are the best. Call us today and let us explain the benefits of expanding into Europe and Scandinavia. Let us review your current SEO efforts and provide you with the expert advice you need to expand and grow your online business. Multilingual SEO is the boost your business needs.

Neuromarketing is getting consumers’ attention for buying a product or service through stimulating their unconscious that lie behind their attitudes, feelings and behavior.

“The reptilian, or “old,” brain drives your customers’ buying decisions” . Early in the 1950’s James Vicary a marketing expert used the flashing of messages embedded in a movie to influence sales.

These messages were not visible to the conscious but the subconscious was very aware. In an experiment in a movie theatre the message “Hungry, Eat Popcorn” and “Drink Coca-Cola” was flashed during the viewing of a Kim Novak film.

Over a six week period the messages were viewed by movie patrons on alternate days. The days the messages were flashed saw an increase in popcorn sales by 57.7 percent and an increase in Coca-Cola sales by 18.1 percent. Startling as well as sobering.
Is James Vicarys’ method neuromarketing? The answer is no, offering subliminal messaging is in fact illegal and is not used as a marketing tool. The effects of neuromarketing on the public at large are inconclusive at best and can be summed up in the following.

Neuromarketing attempts to take a primitive emotion such as rage, joy, hunger, and the like and relate it to a product. As an example if someone were selling greeting cards then perhaps the joy of celebrating Christmas with ones family in conjunction with a family member opening a card can be considered a form of neuromarketing.

Game developers have been using it for years by showing the relationship of living in a fantasy world where a person has no cares and can become anything they want. The draw of living in a fantasy realm where you are king can in fact be habit forming as many children and adults can attest too.
Taking the same element one step further, if the influence of a game is that powerful then to associate it with a product/service may give an advantage to a company. The premise behind neuromarketing is to bypass the natural adult mechanism of right and wrong and offer the retailers alternatives.
As a final example a homeless man stands on the street with a sign “I am homeless. PLEASE HELP”. Although this may invoke some sympathy and monetary compensation what if the sign read, “What if YOU were hungry!”? By this simple change marketer Patrick Renvoisé found that the message increased the more guttural senses of a person viewing the sign and therefore increased the contributions.
Are the examples I presented neuromarketing, who is to say? In the final analysis the following can best be said. Marketers have for years tried to find the Holy Grail to the subconscious and bypass reason. It does not exist. Forward thinkers like Norman Vincent Peale, Robert Schuler, Rich Devos, Tony Dungy, Billy Graham and many more have reasonably offered that it is the positive aspect of anything that builds confidence and ultimately sales. There is no trick, no sleight of hand, and no method for duping the consumer. It is the truth, the simple truth that will influence a person. Build trust in your product by offering the truth and you will be successful beyond your dreams. Impart the truth in marketing and you will follow a well-worn trail blazed by the greatest minds of all time. After all the lies that have been told to the consumers, the truth will be a refreshing gift.

When Google initiated its search engine the methods for ascertaining the relevance of content on a website were crude at best. The methodology of analyzing content was in its infancy and the cornerstone of deciding whether a sight had any pertinent value was measured by the amount of links. Enter now the SEO. Through tools and procedures an SEO could bring a website from nothing into the forefront by linking what seemed to be similar and relevant contented sites. However, this was not always the case and a simpler method for building links to a website was born. They are the link farms; a base of seemingly relevant information which add an artificial importance to a website. In addition to the farms key word stuffing became popular. This method did not offer real information but a sort of circular text that explained nothing but offered everything. These two areas caught Google’s attention and thus the new direction.

The Panda offering was Google’s method for helping ensure that the content offered by a website was indeed in line with its proclaimed topic. Years of analyzing billions of lines of text had honed Pandas algorithms to a degree almost on par with eyes on analysis. These same algorithms are used in colleges to expose plagiarism among students. In the months that followed websites who had been using black hat techniques to raise their sites page rank were found to be wanting and were either penalized or dropped out of the index completely. Google had made its point. The users who query their database were going to find the information returned to be relevant and useful. It is the reason why Google exists. If the user cannot find pertinent answers to a question they will go elsewhere.
Next enter Penguin. A technology designed to ferret out irrelevant links or links that were from link farms. This method had a two pronged approach. First the links were analyzed for relevant content and were weighted as such in reference to the child website. Secondly, a database of pirate link farms was built and queried against the links tied to a website. Google gave ample warning that anyone using links from these farms would be penalized. Those who listened remained in the index, those who did not dropped off the planet.
In order to understand each iteration of Penguin and Panda one must put on the hat of a developer. Test data, by definition, is just that, test data. It can only simulate real world situations to a small degree and is only useful for finding the most glaring of design flaws. In programming and analysis the weakest link is not the logic, it is the data set used to test the algorithm. Panda and Penguin are no different. Upon initial release Panda was coarse at best and had some problems. Google worked with webmasters and SEOs in order to alleviate any conditions that were not the intention of the new algorithms. As time passed and the algorithms analyzed Panda became much sharper in its analysis and can be depended upon to give a good examination of a websites content.
Penguin is now in its initial phase of release. It is still beta to a certain degree and is being analyzed constantly. As Matt Cutts has related:

“(Likewise), we’re still in the early stages of Penguin where the engineers are incorporating new signals and iterating to improve the algorithm. Because of that, expect that the next few Penguin updates will take longer, incorporate additional signals, and as a result will have more noticeable impact. It’s not the case that people should just expect data refreshes for Penguin quite yet.”
In other words, there may still be some kinks in Penguin and yes, they may affect your site to some degree. Ultimately we all want a better product for the user and Google is doing just that. To make a cake you have to break a few eggs.

Search engine optimization ( SEO ) can be a very tricky business, especially now after Google’s Panda and Penguin updates. Quality content has become more important than ever. The days of being able to build lots of backlinks to your site and watch your rankings soar are over.

Now good quality content is what is needed to really grab people’s attention and improve your rankings for keywords related to your niche. Creating quality content isn’t too difficult, as long as you have a good grasp on English. You should write in a way that engages a reader, rather than focusing too heavily on including keywords. As long as you include the keyword you want to rank for in your title and a couple of times in the content – that is enough.

Things can become considerably trickier if you run a website that is multilingual. A lot of ecommerce websites are multilingual as they sell globally and want to attract customers from all over the globe. If you run a multilingual website and want it to be optimized for SEO then there are certain things you must bear in mind. Firstly is that your content must not be directly translated from English. What I mean is that it mustn’t be literally translated, as it will not read well.
The whole purpose of your sales copy is to attract new customers and make sales so a poorly translated piece of writing will not do. If you’re running a multilingual website then it can be quite a tall order to ensure that all the content is written well. It is a good idea to hear writers to help you with the languages you are not comfortable with. This way you can ensure that all the content on your website makes sense and is designed to maximize your sales and profits.
If you use multilingual SEO in the right way then you’re at a huge advantage compared to most other sites. You can target audiences from all round the globe and increase your sales by a significant degree. The important thing to remember is that nowadays Google is looking for quality content, no matter what the language. English is the most common language in the world so it is natural that this will be a focus but there are so many other languages and regions of the world you can focus on. As long as your content is well written you can expect to bring in traffic and sales from all corners of the globe.

A fast-growing trend amongst internet marketers when dealing with site promotion is the use of information graphics. There is no shortage of information online so being able to engage the target audience’s attention with strong visuals and creative data presentation is just one more way to get an edge on the competition. The intent of an information graphic is to convey a detailed and often ample amount of information in a friendly and efficient manner. Examples are charts, maps and diagrams, especially those that can summarize quantities of statistical data for the reader, which can make possibly overwhelming amounts of information clear, concise and accessible.

There is a penchant for the internet marketer to hire a company that can process the desired information and transform it into an illustrative display that presents the target data. Though quality info graphics may cost several thousand dollars to purchase, this is a far cheaper alternative to a lengthy marketing campaign and the sheer volume of people who will read an information graphic compared to a simple text article is more than worth the investment. It is no secret that people react to images much more strongly than to the basic written word, thus info graphics are an extremely important tool to use when promoting a business. If advertised on file/image sharing sites and social media, the snowball effect of people sharing the info graphic with friends can generate colossal amounts of traffic. Facebook alone has nearly one billion members, so the possibilities of image sharing are obvious. What would normally be considered boring or unimaginative information presented in a colorful and exciting manner, can soon become extremely interesting to the average viewer.
Most people are averse to reading the printed word. Black on white is as dull a color scheme as you can find, so when you’re trying to promote a website or blog, the last thing you want to do is attempt to grab a persons attention with walls of text. The interesting thing is info graphics may contain impressive amounts of material, but since they are presented in such a manner that captures the viewers attention what would normally take a long time to process is absorbed and understood in a relatively short amount of time. When trying to communicate an idea or concept, this is especially valuable. You can deliver the core of your message without taking too much time out of someone’s day, enticing a person or demographic you normally wouldn’t be able to attract.
Information graphics are a hot advertising medium that is on the rise, so any website owner who has the means to acquire them should not be left behind by their fellow internet marketers.
